Connecting the Dots

In life, you have to be able to join the dots to experience the best results. Unfortunately, neither the dots, nor the pathways between them are always clearly demarcated. In today?s world, connecting the dots one at a time may no longer be sufficient. And there are other challenges. The dots tend to be in motion, sometimes changing along fluid, evolutionary lines and sometimes in rapid, quantum leaps. People also see the dots differently ? some want to connect them one way, others another way and some don?t want to connect them at all. Yet others may not see dots, but opportunities...

Whether you are charting a course for an organisation, a team or for yourself, making decisions about what must be done and which people you need on your team or how to increase performance, you need to be able to bring things together in a congruent and meaningful way to get the best effect. When the dots are joined appropriately, the picture emerges, clear and vibrant. It looks and feels right. Finding the right dots and getting the relationships among them right is everything.

JvR Consulting Psychologists exists to help people identify and connect their dots. We work with entrepreneurs and CEO?s, managers and community leaders, generalists, specialists and those who are still seeking their way. We enable organisations, teams and individuals to bring their dots into focus on the right canvas in a way that makes sense to them. We work with them to translate and operationalise their visions into clear, measurable goals and to execute them for optimal results. And we encourage them to think outside the dots, to take responsibility for their dots and for connecting them, to bring clear, meaningful results to life.

Black economic empowerment

JvRC is classified as Qualifying Small Enterprise (QSE). QSE?s present a BEE score comprising four out of the seven BEE elements. Initially JVRC plans to elect preferential procurement, enterprise development, skills development and social economic development as its elements of focus. We are in the process of completing our new BEE scorecard through a recently accredited verification agency. We anticipate that we will qualify as a Level 4 Contributor, with a score of between 65 and 75 points which will allow JVRC a Broad-Based BEE recognition level of 100%. Ultimately we plan to apply the entire scorecard to obtain enhanced recognition.
JVRC have been sponsoring a number of black students studying psychology at South African universities. We have also, in conjunction with the University of Johannesburg, been actively participating in and supporting the university?s learnership program for intern psychometrists and psychologists. We currently provide internships to 3 interns from previously disadvantaged backgrounds (60% or our intern complement) and plan to offer them full-time employment after their internships are completed.

JvRC donates professional time to initiatives such as the Life College programme run by Pat Pillay. This programme is conducted in association with various partners and coaches, such as Richard Branson, Raymond Ackerman and the Franklin Covey Institute. It is aimed at providing life skills education to previously disadvantaged youths. Our involvement includes consultation on the design of the organisation and its programmes, psychometric assessment, coaching and guidance to students and research on the success of Life College?s programmes.

From the above it is clear that JvRC is committed to and fully supportive of the government?s initiative to promote Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment.
